Review & Swatches: MUA LIP BOOM

Daca ma urmariti pe facebook, stiti ca am profitat de cea mai recenta oferta a celor de la MUA si mi-am luat primele produse de la aceasta firma. N-am apucat sa le incerc cum trebuie pe toate, dar judecand dupa swatch-uri, nu cred ca o sa fiu dezamagita. Am cumparat paleta Dusk Til Dawn, trei eyelinere cu sclipici (o sa adaug poze la postarea de anul trecut despre eyelinere colorate), un fond de ten si trei produse Lip Boom. Pe acestea din urma o sa vi le prezint astazi.

If you follow me on facebook, you know I took advantage of MUA‘s latest offer and bought my first products from them. I didn’t get the chance to try all of them out properly, but judging by the swatches I did, I don’t think I’ll be disappointed. I bought the Dusk Til Dawn palette, three glitter eyeliners, a foundation and three Lip Boom products. Today I’ll be talking about the latter. 

Mi-am cumparat nuantele LMK, OMG si Bring It din cele 8 existente. Sunt create impreuna cu Alexandra Burke, iar pretul unuia e de 3 lire, foarte avantajos pentru produsul primit (ruj, gloss + o rezerva mica de ruj). Cei de la MUA afirma ca poate fi purtat in patru moduri: fie gloss-ul sau rujul de unele singure, rujul cu gloss in centrul buzelor pentru a da iluzia de volum si, in final, rujul cu gloss pe toata suprafata buzelor pentru un finish glossy. Imi place packaging-ul, e foarte cute si-mi place, de asemenea, ca primesc 2 produse in unul…ador lucrurile multifunctionale.  

I bought LMK, OMG and Bring It out of the 8 existing shades. They’re created in collaboration with Alexandra Burke. The price is 3 pounds and I think it’s great considering the amount of products you’re getting (lipstick, gloss + a little lipstick compartment at the bottom). MUA claims it can be worn in four ways: either highlighter or lipstick on their own, then lipstick with highlighter in the center to give the illusion of volume and finally lipstick with highlighter all over for a glossy look. I love the packaging, it’s very cute and I also like the fact that it’s multipurpose.

In ciuda descrierii, rujurile nu sunt mate in intregime, sunt destul de pigmentate, nu foarte cremoase…motiv pentru care dureaza ceva mai mult sa le intinzi perfect pe buze. De altfel, o sa vedeti in swatch-uri ca n-am stat sa fac dungile si le-am aplicat destul de messy. Gloss-urile au o baza transparenta si mult sclipici, ceea ce le face mai greu de purtat singure. Au un miros de vanilie si caramel adorabil si nu sunt lipicioase, dar sunt destul de greu de indepartat in sensul ca lipiciul ramane pe buze sau se intinde.

Despite the official description, the lipsticks are not entirely matte. They’re quite pigmented, not too creamy…which is why it takes a little longer to apply perfectly on the lips. You’ll see in the swatches below that I skipped a step and applied them a little messy. The highlighters have a clear base and a lot of glitter, making them harder to wear on their own. The scent is lovely: vanilla and caramel. They’re not sticky, but are quite difficult to remove because of the chunky glitter.

OMG e un nude corai, potrivit pentru a contrabalansa un look mai dramatic. Trebuie aplicat in mai multe straturi pentru o acoperire perfecta si se fixeaza in crapaturile buzelor, de aceea arata mult mai bine cu gloss-ul peste. Ca nuanta, imi aduce aminte de Sleek Barely There, doar ca acela e mai cremos. Gloss-ul are particule aurii care merg de minune cu rujul. Pe aceasta l-as purta chiar si singur, mai ales ca vin sarbatorile. 

OMG is a coral nude, perfect to match a more dramatic eye make-up. It has to be applied in several layers for a perfect coverage and it tends to set in the cracks of my lips, that’s why it looks much better with gloss on top. As far as the shade goes, it reminds me of Sleek Barely There, but that one is creamier. The gloss has gold glitter that goes great with the lipstick. I think I’d wear this one alone, especially since the Holidays are coming.

Bring It e un rosu cherry absolut superb, preferatul meu dintre cele trei. E pigmentat si cremos si arata superb cu gloss-ul cu sclipici auriu peste, mi se pare perfect pentru Craciun! Si acest gloss l-as purta singur, stiti ca sunt o fana a sclipiciului :)).

Bring It is an absolutely gorgeous cherry red, my favorite out of the three. It’s pigmented and creamy and it looks gorgeous with the gold glitter on top, perfect for Christmas! I would also wear this gloss alone, you know I’m a fan of glitter :)).

LMK e un visiniu vampy, perfect pentru acest sezon! Culoarea e semi-opaca, as fi vrut sa fie putin mai pigmentat, dar e frumos oricum. Aplicat peste un creion de buze, arata si mai bine. Dupa cum vedeti, acesta se fixeaza cel mai rau in crapaturi, asa ca trebuie sa am grija sa-mi exfoliez si hidratez buzele inainte. Glossul are sclipici lila si se vede frumos in combinatie cu rujul, dar nu l-as purta singur pentru ca nu e o nuanta care sa-mi stea bine.

LMK is a vampy burgundy, perfect for this season! The color is semi-opaque, I wish it was a little more pigmented, but it’s nice anyway. It looks better applied over a lip pencil. As you can see from the pics, this one really sets into the cracks of the lips, so I have to exfoliate and moisturize my lips before applying it. The glitter is a pretty lilac color and it goes beautifully combined with the lipstick. I wouldn’t wear it alone though  because the shade doesn’t suit me.

Daca ar fi sa le dau o nota, ar fi probabil 3,5 din 5.

If I had to grade them, they would probably get 3,5 out of 5.
